Website Accessibility
This website has accessibility  and navigation functions designed to assist dyslexic people. The toolbar at the top of the screen has a number of functions designed to change the text and images to help dyslexics to customise the website for themselves.

Browsealoud
This function enables the website to talk to you. To do this you have to first enable your computer by downloading the basic Browsealoud program. You can do this by clicking on the link in the toolbar. Once your computer is Browsealoud enabled, simply highlight any text you wish to hear and your computer will speak to you. (Note: Browsealoud is only as good as the sound card in your computer - the better your soundcard, the better Browsealoud will work).

Colour
About 50% of dyslexics also suffer from Meares-Irlen Syndrome. It has been shown that changes in colour can assist some dyslexics to read. Thus, using the dropdown menus in the toolbar you can change the colour of both the website background, and the text. You can also highlight just the vowels in the text by clicking the vowels + or - function.

Text
Much like colour, changes in font and text can help some dyslexics. Thus you can change the font, text size and lay-out. You have a choice of four font types (if you are unsure, it has been suggested that Comic Sans is the best general font for dyslexics). You can spread out the text by clicking the + button on the font drop down list. You also have a choice of four text sizes. If you are unsure, experiment and see what works best for you.

Images
In order to simplify the site you can turn-off the site images by clicking the Images Off button.

Reset
You can return the site to its default settings simply by clicking the Reset button.
