The Professional Development Award In Dyslexia(PDA)

The Professional Development Award (PDA) Supporting Individuals with Dyslexia in Learning and Workplace Settings (Group Award : G8LK 47 ) was formally launched on Tuesday 20 November 2007 in the Radisson-SAS Hotel Glasgow by Gordon Rodgers, Business Development Manager, SQA.

The Award consists of 2 Higher National Units:

Dyslexia: Understanding and Supporting Individuals with Dyslexia (SQA No. F16Y 34)

Dyslexia: Working with Individuals with Dyslexia (SQA No. F171 34)

It was developed to provide an accredited route for the many practitioners in Scotland who work with adults in a variety of learning and workplace settings. The new qualification provides a route for candidates to evidence their experience of working with adults with dyslexia.

This work has been carried out by The Dyslexia Working Party with funding from Learning Connections and in-kind support from SQA.
